Over the last year, I have been moving around a lot trying to see new places and decide where I want to live. Well the 6 month mark is coming up soon for Phoenix and it looks like once again I may head somewhere new this summer.
So today, I just wanted to ask you, my readers, a few questions and see what your responses are. I just want to see what other people think of their living situations. I have posted my answers below each question as well. So here are the three questions I would love everyone to answer in the comment section:
1. Where Do You Live And Are You Happy There?
I live in Phoenix, Arizona right now and it is alright. However, I am not a real big fan of the whole desert thing. I miss having water around, especially the ocean. I also miss living in cities that are not so spread out so I can ride my bike more often instead of driving everywhere.
2. How Long Have You Lived Where You Currently Do?
I have lived in Phoenix since the middle of November. I moved here from Honolulu, Hawaii to see what Phoenix had to offer.
3. How Many Different Places Have You Lived?
I have lived in a total of three states throughout my life so far. In the past year, I have lived in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Honolulu, Hawaii, and now Phoenix, Arizona. I have seen a lot of different things and have really notices that different places have a lot different things to offer. Wisconsin had a lot more variations in the weather, especially winter which is why I left. Honolulu had the ocean and almost constant weather which I now miss. Phoenix is a really big city with a low cost of living.
So there are my answers, I really appreciate everyone that reads these and answers the questions. I look forward to seeing your responses.

1) Vancouver BC, and no, I am not happy here. I miss the country, hate the hustle and bustle of the city.
2) About 5 years in this townhouse, about 20 years in the Van. area.
3) Only three: The Big City (Vancouver), a mining town, and the Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. I didn’t mind the scenery around the mining town, but the red neck attitude is what originally drove me to the city, supposing that a more urbane environment would be more to my tastes. I was wrong, but by the time I figured that one out, I was locked into job limitations that kept me in Van. *sigh*
If you ever head north of the border, both Vancouver and Victoria are beautiful cities, and excellent to work and live in, as long as you like city living. Come on up and check it out some time.

1) Right now I’m in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA and it’s awesome. Specifically, if you’ve ever seen Gone Baby Gone, I live two streets over from where all the main characters in that movie live.
We’re finally thawing out from the New England winters, the Celtics and Bruins are in the playoffs and the Red Sox are playing real games again, and the many college girls are still in town. It’s a great time for this great city.
2) I was born and raised here up until I was 18, and then came back when I was 21 so I’ve lived here for 23 years. The city changes enough where it’s never boring but it’s small enough where I can walk home from downtown if need be.
3) I lived in Los Angeles for a year and Chapel Hill, NC for two years. SoCal was awesome but LA, especially downtown LA where I lived are to be avoided. Chapel Hill was an awesome place if you like college towns but far away from any real cities (I don’t count Raleigh / Durham, they’re just too spread out).
So, I’d throw in a huge recommendation for Boston. It’s right by the ocean, small enough to bike around (lots of people do so) and we get all four seasons which makes you appreciate the good weather that much more. Plus, we’re essentially a college city so there’s always something going on here.
Thanks to both of you for responding. I never really thought about the Vancouver Area or Boston. Probably because I am not snow’s biggest fan lol. Living in Wisconsin my whole life gave me enough of that. But I may look into Boston a bit more
Small correction, I’ve lived in Boston for 21 years (I’m 24, not 26…damn math!).
But yeah, Boston is a great place, if you’ve never been you should at least visit. It’s got history everywhere, it’s a walkable city (literally, you walk across the downtown and surrounding parts of the city in a few hours) and we’ve got a good modern educated culture.
You can’t avoid the snow here though, and it’s why I’m highly considering living in Buenos Aires next winter!

I live by the sea in Oz.. have been in this town for bout 16 years..in this house for 9…I love where I live and cant imagine ever leaving…I have the beach at one door, the rainforests at another…Im close enough to the main town if I want to connect with others also 1.5hrs flight to sydney…my children both surf all summer, one snowboards & is in the city at uni…I have all I want here…

I live in Idaho, near the border of Wyoming. I can see the tops of the Grand Tetons out of my picture window. In fact, the URL I put ^^ up there will take you to my tetonsandbeyond photo blog, if you’d like to see more.
I grew up in California, we moved a lot all over the state because my dad was in the Navy, and I hated it. I left when I was 23 with my husband and small children and never looked back.
We’ve lived in Washington, Montana, Wyoming and now Idaho and so far Montana and Idaho are my favorites.
I am definitely a fan of the country lifestyle, and I’ll never live in another city unless I have no other choice!!
I lived in Thatcher, Arizona for just over 22 years. Lived in Las Cruces for about 4 or 5 months, and I’ve been in Phoenix for almost 2 years now. Personally, I would love to live in Las Cruces again. It’s a small town, but it’s big enough to have plenty of shopping and nightlife. The people out there in New Mexico are generally a lot friendlier than their Arizonan counterparts… I’ve also spent some time out in the Dallas area, and if I didn’t hate the humidity out there so much, I would love to live there…
