It’s All About The Readers
Any blogger knows, the readers are what make everything. Without them, you are stuck writing posts that never get any feedback. This can make it especially tough when starting out in the blogosphere.
So I got to thinking this morning and realized that I hardly know anything about my readers. Don’t get be wrong, I try to learn as much about all of you by following up with your comments and visiting your blogs. But still, I have only grown to know a few of you personally.
Therefore, I have decided to ask you, the readers, some questions. I hope that you take the time to leave a comment and answer the questions. I think it will be a great way to introduce yourself, not only to me but to all of my other readers.
You will automatically get a backlink (this blog is dofollow) to your site which can never hurt. If enough people link to this post, you might even get some pagerank passed on to your blog (let’s hope).
And now for the questions:
1. What Is Your Name and Age?
2. Where Do You Live?
3. What Is Your Blog About?
4. Why Did You Start Blogging?
5. What’s Your Goal In Life?
Now please, take a minute and answer these questions in a comment. If you would like, go ahead an post the answers on your blog.
I will start things off my answering the questions in the first comment. Thanks!
PS. Tune in tomorrow for my interview with Tim Ferris, the author of the “Four Hour Work Week.”
Well let’s see, my name is Justin Wright and I am 22. I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona. My blog is about um….blogging and travel mostly (along with some other stuff). I started blogging because I wanted to get my opinions out and share my stories with family, friends, and the rest of the world. My goal in life to to travel the world, take pictures, and share my adventures.
1. What Is Your Name and Age?
– see above, and 25
2. Where Do You Live?
– Arizona
3. What Is Your Blog About?
– I don’t have a blog yet, but will someday
4. Why Did You Start Blogging?
– When I DO start blogging it will be so I can stay in touch with people without having to use myspace
5. What’s Your Goal In Life?
– To spend everyday doing something new and never settling
I am 25 and my blog is about country music and everything surrounding it. I own a network of blogs but many are not established yet but that is what my company does. My goal in life is to create income from my blogs and other company that will make money not an issue and have enough to be able to help people and give back, as well would like to have pull in many industries through my blog and company.
1. Carla; age 30 on Dec 1st
2. San Francisco Bay Area
3. Its about my online store. The blog is just an extension of it.
4. I started on an off about a year ago. It was a personal blog about a totally unrelated topic, but it got old on me fast. I started this blog back in the spring, but I didn’t get very active until a few months ago. I’m still pretty new at blogging.
5. My goal is to live life to its fullest with personal freedom and to accomplish things I never thought was possible.
I don’t know why but for some reason I read this list and immediately though of the who is your daddy and what does he do? prank calls.
Looking forward to the Tim Ferris interview tomorrow!
1) Adam and I’m 24
2) Born & raised in Boston, MA but I’ve also lived in Los Angeles, CA and Chapel Hill, NC and plan on living abroad at some point (Argentina, Japan, and Poland are at the top of my list).
3) Prose of a Pol, my personal blog is about whatever I feel like writing about at the time. There’s a lot of posts about Boston, my bicycle, the Celtics (season ticket holder!), The 42nd Estate (a company I partly own with Justin and a few other people), and politics, economics and more.
I also write under my pseudonym, Mr. Money, at My Last Name Means Money about, you guessed it, money!
4) I’ve been involved in web-sites off and on since the late 90′s and I enjoy writing so the two sort of came together naturally. My personal blog was actually started as a marketing tool for another company that I started with three other friends that simply never made it off the ground floor. Since then it’s evolved. Really blogging to me is a creative outlet. Right now I’m trying to make it a full-time gig, like Justin as it’s been a blast so far and certainly much better than a corporate cube!
5) To live. A few months back I adopted a personal motto of “Just Did It”, which boils down to saying screw it to the naysayers and doing what you want to do. People will also throw doubt on your motivations and goals, but life is all about listening to yourself and trusting that you know what you’re doing. Sure, mistakes will be made but that’s part of life. Right now, my big main goal is to simply avoid the corporate cubicle world. As long as I can work on my own terms (to an extent), it’s worth making much less money (as long as it’s enough to survive I’ll be happy). Freedom and independence are marvelous things that too few of us really strive for. Every day I learn something new that makes me strive more and more for as much freedom and life as I can get.
I’ ve been known as Bingkee in the blogosphere but my real name is Viviene and I am 40 years old,
I am originally from the Philippines but had been living in the US for 10 years and currently living in mideastern Connecticut.
My blog is all about views and commentaries on the American way of life as seen through the eyes of a foreigner (immigrant).
I am blogging because I love writing and had been writing since age 8. I used to be a copywriter. And since I am a stay-at-home wife, there’s nothing more exciting to spend so much free time than blogging /writing.
My goal is simple–to raise a family and live a life dedicated to the One who really maters- God.

By the way Justin, the whole concept of this blog is very intriguing and will be difficult not to follow. You’ve got a great idea going here, and I give you all the credit in the world for escaping the cube-farm life that so many of us are leading. If I didn’t have mouths to feed, I’d like to think that I’d try something similar. I wish you the best in your venture and look forward to seeing how things turn out for you.

4. It started back in college as a personal release of tension. I love to write and it has helped tremendously with keeping my skills sharpened (though that’s debatable according to some) and maintaining mental stability (“let it out and let it go”). It was my one way to vent without getting flack.
5. My main drive is to live comfortably doing the one thing I enjoy” writing. I don’t expect to become the next Stephen King, but just keeping he electric from being turned off would be a start! Aside from that, I want to travel widely (and live in either Australia or England), visit new places and peoples, help preserve historic homes, inspire and effect people, and promote world peace. No wait. Scratch that last one. It only applies to Miss America contestants.
