My Story
I was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated from college there in 2007. At that point, I decided it was time to go out and try new things. So I said goodbye to my friends and family and booked a one way ticket to Hawaii. For six months, I hung out on the beach, learned how to surf, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. All this while working a crappy cubicle job fixing computers.
Once I grew tired of Honolulu (and ran out of money), I decided to move to Arizona where I ended up living for a year and a half. I once again enjoyed the awesome weather while working a technical support job. I eventually hit my tipping point for office jobs while living in Arizona.
So in 2008 a new journey started for me. I quit my office job and turned to blogging and consulting as a full-time career. I had already proven to myself that this was my passion, so I could not hold off on giving it a try any longer. Luckily, this decision was the best choice I have ever made.
I ended up starting ZoopMedia and have never looked back since. I’ve worked with people from all over the world and can honestly say I love what I do.
Since then, I’ve moved to Austin, Texas; the place I currently call “home.”
Blogging Career
When I started blogging, I had no idea what I was getting into. I signed up for a free Blogger account and started making random posts on a blog. After blogging on and off for a few years, I did not see any results. However, I decided to give it a honest attempt in 2007 and started this blog. This was the turning point in my blogging career.
I started writing posts on a daily basis, and over time I started to see more and more traffic. After 3 months of solid writing, it had grown into a habit that was easy to maintain. From there, I would have never imagined the success I would find. Since then, I have moved into the top 65,000 in Alexa and have seen my traffic grow substantially.
Besides seeing my traffic grow, I have seen success in all different forms. I have met some great people and have even interviewed some of the most famous and well known bloggers from around the world. When I started blogging and reading other blogs for advice, I never would have imagined I would interview people like Darren Rowse from Problogger and Tim Ferris from the Four Hour Work Week.
Other Interests
Besides blogging, I enjoy traveling and photography. Traveling is my passion because I have a strong desire to see the world from my own eyes. Luckily, I have managed to become a digital nomad and do most of my work remotely. This has really helped me see a lot of new and cool places.
I also try to spend as much time as possible outside hiking, swimming, and cycling.
