About Me

Justin WrightMy name is Justin Wright and I am a blogger, WordPress consultant, and digital nomad that’s addicted to exploring the outdoors. Before I get into the details, I want to say thanks a lot for checking out my blog, I really appreciate it.

My main goals in life are to be happy, to spend as much time as I can outdoors, and to help as many people as I can in some way, shape, or form. If I can achieve those three goals, I’ll consider my life a success.

So What Is This Blog About?

That’s a good question. I originally started this blog as a way of documenting the things I do in life. I also used it as a place to rant about my cubicle job and how much I hated it. Eventually I hit a tipping point with that job and decided it was time to change my career path.

I was fortunate enough to make an escape from the cubicle a few years ago and now earn a living using the power of the internet. I currently support myself by offering a variety of products as well as WordPress services.

I now use the blog as way of sharing my stories about exploring what life has to offer outside of the cubicle. I write on a variety of topics relating to the outdoors, travel, health, fitness, and life in general.

My Lifestyle

Growing up, I always thought life was about getting the coolest gadgets, clothes, and cars. Whenever a new video game system came out, I felt like I had to have it as quickly as possible. If one of my friends had something I didn’t, I needed to get a better version.

However, I have found that this type of thinking is what forces us into jobs we dislike. It’s hard to pay for all of our habits if we’re constantly trying to keep up with everyone else. It doesn’t help that advertisers constantly try to convince us what we need next.

I’ve found that money and possessions are not what we’re after. We simply want to live a happy and simple life filled with two very important things:

Time and freedom.

This is why I choose to live a simple life, free of clutter and useless possessions. Instead of watching television, I like to read books (a lot of them). I am a huge fan of minimalism and believe that it truly changed my life for the better.

I’m also very passionate about healthy living. I follow the Primal Blueprint most of the time, but I do enjoy good beer and donuts more than I should.

Living frugal is another important aspect of my life and I’m not ashamed to admit that shopping at thrift stores is one of my favorite hobbies. I get a rush every time I find an item at Goodwill that matches the 50% off color tag of the day.

I also love using coupons and spend a lot of time reading personal finance blogs such as Budgets Are Sexy. By living off of less money, I’ve been able to work on the things I enjoy and have not had to get a job I do not find fun or exhilarating.

This freedom is what makes me get up every day. Nothing beats having time to do the things you enjoy in life.

Well, I guess that is it for my lifestyle. Sorry it took so long to spit all that out…
