My name is Justin Wright and I am a web developer who is addicted to exploring the outdoors. Before I get into the details, I want to say thanks a lot for checking out my blog, I really appreciate it.
My main goals in life are to be happy, to never stop learning, and to help as many people as I can in some way, shape, or form.
So What Is This Blog About?
That’s a good question. It’s mainly a place for me to document the things I have done in my life. I write on a variety of topics relating to the outdoors, technology, travel, fitness, and life in general.
My Lifestyle
Growing up, I always thought life was about getting the coolest gadgets, clothes, and cars. Whenever a new video game system came out, I felt like I had to have it as quickly as possible. If one of my friends had something I didn’t, I needed to get a better version.
However, I have found that this type of thinking is what forces us into jobs we dislike. It’s hard to pay for all of our habits if we’re constantly trying to keep up with everyone else. It doesn’t help that advertisers constantly try to convince us what we need next.
I’ve found that money and possessions are not what we’re after. We simply want to live a happy and simple life filled with two very important things:
Time and freedom.
This is why I choose to live a simple life, free of clutter and useless possessions. Instead of watching television, I like to read books (a lot of them). I am a huge fan of minimalism and believe that it truly changed my life for the better.
I’m very passionate about science and love to learn new things. I spend a lot of time reading books about volcanoes, earthquakes, space, and any anything else I find interesting.
Living frugal is another important aspect of my life and I’m not ashamed to admit that shopping at thrift stores is one of my favorite hobbies. I get a rush every time I find an item at Goodwill that matches the 50% off color tag of the day.
Back to School
In 2012 I made the decision to go back to school to pursue a degree in earth science and geology. I am very interested in science, especially relating to the earth and the environment. It’s been both fun and demanding trying to work and go to school but learning is something I truly enjoy.
