From time to time, I spend some time on YouTube looking at the funniest and cheesiest music videos I can find. I also find some totally awesome music videos now and then. Here is a compilation I put together of some of the best (and worst) music videos from the past 30 years or so.
Since the whole copyright thing is going on over at YouTube, I had to link to some of the videos since a few companies (you know who) blocked embedding of their videos. Enjoy!
Men Without Hats – Safety Dance
I love this video for reasons I do not know..
Right Said Fred – I’m Too Sexy
This video is cheesy enough that hit had to be included in this list.
Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
This video made the list because…I don’t know. The sweet backgrounds perhaps?
David Hasselhof – Hooked On A Feeling
It’s very possible that this is the worst music video ever created.
Devo Whip It
This might be the best music video ever created…lol
MC Hammer – Can’t Touch This
I remember this from when I was little. Who can forget those parachute pants.
Corey Hart – Sunglasses At Night
Another cheesy video that makes me saw “wow.”
Lionel Richie – All Night Long
Well the song is pretty sweet, but the video fails in many ways.
Robert Palmer – Addicted To Love
Another video I remember seeing back in the day.
Zlad Elektronik Supersonik
This may be a joke, but it’s still a kickass music video.
Vanilla Ice – Ice Ice Baby
Another nominee for being one of the worst videos of all time.
Midnight Oil – Beds Are Burning
How can we dance when our earth is turning? Do you know the answer? I sure don’t.
Dire Straits – Money For Nothing
The 3D animation in this video is brilliant. Not to mention it’s one of the best songs ever.
Men At Work – Land Down Under
This video is classic.
The Gap Band – You Dropped A Bomb on Me
Another great video featuring some awesome dance moves from the 80′s.
The Village People – YMCA
Does anyone else think the guy in black leather looks a lot like Mr. Slave from South Park?
Blind Melon – No Rain
This video instantly reminds me of the early 90′s.
Peter Gabriel – Sledgehammer
I have to admit, this is another classic video that kicks ass.
Tom Petty – Don’t Come Around Here No More
I have always loved Tom Petty’s videos, including this one.
Fatboy Slim – Weapon Of Choice
Christopher Walken alone makes this video the greatest ever.
Wham – Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go
Okay forget the videos I mentioned earlier as being the worst ever, this one wins hands down!
Do you now of some other awesome (or not so awesome) videos? If so, feel free to link to them in a comment below.

It’s pretty hard to ever really nail a list of the top/best/most awesome…whatever, but this list…well, I think it’s pretty good. The only videos I think might be more awesome would be either Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” or “Schism” or “Prison Sex” from Tool…oh, and the Johnny Cash cover of “Hurt”
hah, this is a pretty old list. I do agree with a lot of your choices though. A lot of old 80′s videos are classics.
If you like the I’m Too Sexy video you’ll probably also enjoy the You’re My Mate video as well!
