Last night I attended the Most Interesting Academy party, which was hosted by Dos Equis. It was a place to learn and try awesome things in hopes of making us "more interesting." The only downside was the fact that the actual guy from the Dos Equis commercials was not there. Damn it.

The event was completely FREE! Free beer, free food, and free transportation. Nothing beat's that. I probably slugged down about 15 beers in the 4 hours I was there, plus a half dozen sliders and a grasshopper (read below).

Last night I attended the Most Interesting Academy party, which was hosted by Dos Equis. It was a place to learn and try awesome things in hopes of making us “more interesting.” The only downside was the fact that the actual guy from the Dos Equis commercials was not there. Damn it.

The event was completely FREE! Free beer, free food, and free transportation. Nothing beat’s that. I probably slugged down about 15 beers in the 4 hours I was there, plus a half dozen sliders and a grasshopper (read below).

What made the party even more amazing was where it took place…

The Falkenstein Castle

The party took place at the Falkenstein Castle, which is located in Burnet, Texas. It’s a castle that’s located in the middle of nowhere. It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be judging from some of the pictures.

Here’s a few pictures taken outside of the castle:

Pretty cool looking huh? I must say it was the first time I ever attended a party at a castle. The inside was also pretty cool looking. Here’s a picture of “The Most Interesting Man in the World” hanging up inside the castle:

I totally want that picture for my living room. It was like 6 feet tall and would take up the whole wall.

The Activities

So what was there to do at the party? The answer was a whole bunch of random stuff. Eating and drinking were the main events of course. But they also had a wind tunnel, a live band, and a salon to get your hair styled and cut.

My favorite part of the party was the bug eating station. Check out what they were serving at this party:

Looks pretty normal right? Let’s take a closer look:

Yep those are bugs. Not sure what kind but they had all sorts of different ones. My girlfriend tried the grasshopper tacos as well as a scorpion. I settled on eating a grasshopper with an Oreo. It was actually pretty good.

I’m More Interesting Now

Overall, the party was a fun event. I had fun trying some new stuff and drinking free beer. I hope to find more free parties like this because it sure feels nice knowing you spent absolutely nothing.

Check out the Most Interesting Academy photo album to see the rest of my pictures.

It's been awhile since I've had a good drinking story to share with everyone. Luckily, this past Saturday was a great time that is worth sharing.

The Beginning

My Saturday started like any other day, with a bowl of cereal and some orange juice. Little did I know, I would end up consuming like 8,000 calories after that. The drinking started when my girlfriend and I decided to go to a Mexican bar and restaurant here in Phoenix for some fajitas and margaritas.

Of course, we order a pitcher of Margaritas instead of small ones. Might as well get the best bang for your buck. After drinking those I already had a little buzz going and I was stuff from the fajitas.

The Cardinals Party

From there, we went to Cadillac Ranch for the Cardinals viewing party put on by Buweise. I was jacked up for the game because I knew the Cardinals could win. We got there around 2:30 so we could get a seat somewhere by the TV. Unfortunately, this gave me 3 and a half hours of drinking time before the game even started.

I started with the 2 dollar bud lights and probably had like 4 or 5 of them before kick off. At that point, I was starting to get a little drunk but I was too occupied with the game to notice.

I started with the 2 dollar bud lights and probably had like 4 or 5 of them before kick off. At that point, I was starting to get a little drunk but I was too occupied with the game to notice.

Time For Some More Food

By the 3rd quarter, I was hungry again so I ordered a hamburger and french fries. I also switched over to Captain Morgan since I was getting sick of beer. This was probably not a good idea…

Anyways, the game was awesome and the Cardinals totally blew the Panthers away. Next stop is the Eagles at home next week.

Go Home Or Go Out?

Once the game was finished, the question was: should we go home or go out to the bars? Unfortunately, I had the idea of going out and that is exactly what happened. My girlfriend and I went to a few bars and a nightclub where I managed to have yet a few more drinks.

But that’s not all…I also managed to find my way to the pizza place after we left the bars. Next thing I know, I have two huge pieces of pepperoni pizza in my stomach. Funny thing is, I was still hungry!

At that point, we decided it was a good idea to go home. It was already midnight and we had been drinking since 1 or so. Now if only I would of stopped eating at this point. But nope, instead I made my way to Burger King which is across the street from our apartment. I ordered a chicken sandwich and tossed it back like it was nothing. Ugh…

And Then Came Sunday Morning…

I woke up feeling like complete shit. I was pretty much useless the entire day and watched a lot of TV. I barely ate anything all day (I wonder why). It sure made me realize why I don’t drink as much as I used to. LOL.

But oh well, it was still a great weekend. Now I just have to wait until next Sunday for the Cardinals vs. Eagles game. Let’s go Cards!

This weekend was…well, pretty eventful. Saturday was a drunkfest like no other.

It all started with volleyball around 2 pm, which is when the tequila first made its appearance. It was all down hill from there. We played for a good 4 hours and drank a few pitchers of Margaritas before we decided to call it quits. By the end of it, everyone was so drunk it was nothing but bitching and complaining about teams cheating.

So did everyone go home and call it an early night after we were done? Of course not…and this is was happened.

Friend 1:

He got kicked out of the bar for no apparent reason. He tried wearing my hat to hide but within a few seconds the bouncer shined a flashlight in his face and escorted him out the front door.

Friend 2:

He did not get kicked out of the bar, but instead got red flagged at the door trying to get in. They said he was already to drunk so he had to go to a different bar.

Here is where things get interesting. I was passed out in my bed around 7 am when he comes rolling into my room and tells me what happened. He ended up walking halfway home from the bar, and then deciding it was too far to continue. So instead he slept in a bush underneath the highway overpass. He left his phone there but ended up finding it the next day.

Friend 3:

Much like friend 2, this friend also failed to make it home after bar close. However, there were no bushes for this kid. Instead, he tried walking home from Tempe and made a wrong turn. Where did he wake up? On a bench at a bus stop somewhere in Scottsdale…

So lets just say it was one heck of a Cinco De Mayo weekend. I just hope tonight has no stories resembling these or it is going to be one long work week…

My first thought was, Beer Pong! And then I thought how convient it was to put these items near the beer. I have never seen a store, other than liquor stores, put items like this near the alcohol.

What I found to be even more interesting, was the fact that the price tag said table Ping Pong balls/beer pong right on it. Check out the pic:

So I guess drinking games are finally becoming recognized as real games, lol. Whats next? I am guessing either the Jenga price tag will say Jenga/Drinking Jenga or the clear plastic cups will say Cups/Flip Cup.

Oh wait, even better, the Twister game will say Twister/Drunk Naked Twister in the toys section. Just wait until little Jimmy see’s that. Mommy Mommy! I want this game!

I think it would be awesome if more price tags had more than one description. Cheap Tequila could say Tequila/What Did I do Lastnight?, or perhaps the condoms could say Latex Condoms/Ackward Morning.

One of the things I did while in Los Angeles was hang out at the University of Southern California. One of my roommates was originally supposed to attend a seminar their but we were not able to find it.

So what did we do instead?

Well, we walked around for a little while and took a few pictures. As we were walking back to our car on the top of a USC parking lot, a guy asked if we wanted a beer.

Of course, being who we are, we decided to accept. The next thing I know, my roommate and I are drinking tall boys of Coors Light on top of the parking ramp overlooking the courtyard they have on campus.

It was a great time drinking with some new people and it was fun because I am pretty sure it was illegal. Here is a picture of us with one of the guys (I am on the right):

But that wasn’t all we did, the people we were drinking with knew a few members of a band that were playing on campus as part of their spring festival. They had two stages setup, along with slip n’ slides and a bunch of other stuff. Not what I remember from college.

So we went down by the courtyard and hung out by the stage. Once again, we continued to drink tall boys of Coors Light even though we were right in the middle of campus. All the people around us looked like they were 18 or 19, but oh well.

They sure don’t do much as far as enforce rules on this campus. Their wasn’t a single security guard or police officer until the very end once we had already drank all the beer and destroyed the evidence.

What I concluded from this experience, is that I should of went to college at USC. The place is amazing and reminds you of all the movies you see that take place on college campuses.

Of course, it costs like 35 thousand a year to go their, but that’s what student loans are for…hehe.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, I will be summing up my San Diego experience. Let’s just say it involves freezing in the Pacific ocean and seeing a Mexican family trying to climb over the mountain only to be greeted by 5 border patrol SUV’s.

Yeah, it was pretty interesting.

So yesterday was Easter Sunday and I must admit mine was anything but ordinary. There was no Easter Egg hunts or Easter Bunnies in this story, just booze, partying, and some bad decisions. From the beginning of the day until 12 am, my Easter was out of control.

It started by waking up at 9, about as hungover as you can possibly be. My friend walks in and invites me to church and I agree to go since it was Easter.

So the next thing I know, I am sitting at church with my 3 friends. One of them is whispering in my ear that this would be a great place to meet girls. Probably not the best thing to talk about at Church.

From there, we ended up going to Gordon Biersch and drinking way more beer than anyone ever should on Easter. I was three sheets to the wind before we left the place. We decided to hop in the car and drive around looking for a strip club. Little did I know, it is a lot harder than you think to find a strip club open on Easter Sunday, even in Phoenix.

After driving around, we stopped in at the grocery store and bought a ton of booze. There is nothing better than walking around the store with 2 bottles of booze in your hand, only to run in to the receptionist I work with. That was an awkward hello, see you tomorrow…

We partied pretty hard at our place and drank a ton of margaritas. I played some pool, but it got boring after I beat everyone a few times. So we decided to go out at this point, and ended up heading to 6 lounge in Scottsdale.

It was a good time considering we ended up paying $150 for VIP bottle service. 1 liter of Sky vodka and it was all over. Not sure how I am going to pay for it, maybe I’ll get lucky and get 200 Adsense clicks today

I woke up this morning hurting like hell. I left my credit card at the bar, and I am pretty convinced my right arm is broken. I couldn’t even straighten it this morning. I’m hoping I just slept on it really bad.

So that was my Easter Sunday, pretty eventful I must say. We also made plans to go to Lake Havasu on Friday, and then drive to Las Vegas from there so I can meet up with my parents. I promise, this is going to be one interesting week. It’s going to be a lot of booze, a few bad decisions, and some more road trips that will surely make some good stories.

So did you do anything special for Easter? Feel free to comment on this post.

Last night was another interesting night to say the least. It started with a roommate spilling a drink on his pants and getting accused of pissing himself at the bar. And ended up with 6 people riding home in a mustang, which involved one person riding in the trunk (not me!). So this morning when I woke up, it got me thinking. What are the pro’s and con’s to going out on the weekdays versus the weekends?

Here is what I managed to come up with.

5 Reasons You

…

Last night was another interesting night to say the least. It started with a roommate spilling a drink on his pants and getting accused of pissing himself at the bar. And ended up with 6 people riding home in a mustang, which involved one person riding in the trunk (not me!). So this morning when I woke up, it got me thinking. What are the pro’s and con’s to going out on the weekdays versus the weekends?

Here is what I managed to come up with.

5 Reasons You SHOULD Go Out on Weekdays:

1. Drinks Are Dirt Cheap

Last night at The Vine, in Tempe, it was a $5 cover and 1 dollar u-call its. That is a deal that is hard to pass up. Besides, you will never find a deal like that on Fridays and Saturdays. So it is a great way to get out and meet people for those on a super tight budget.

2. The Crowds Are usually Different

The nice thing about going to different bars on the weekdays is that you usually see new people that are not there on the weekends. So it is a great way to go to the same bars but see a new crowd. It is also nice to go to bars you hardly visit since most places have certain specials on different days of the week.

3. Being Hungover At Work Isn’t So Bad

Some people might disagree with this, depending on your job, but I have no problems getting up at 7 and heading to work after partying. I would rather spend my miserable mornings sitting at work on company time versus wasting away my precious Saturday and Sunday mornings. If I really have a rough night, I could always throw the Bathroom Stall Hammock in the briefcase and grab a quick nap.

4. It Gives You Something To Blog About

I must admit, I have been through some crazy times over the last few months, and many of them have to do with going out and having fun on weekdays. It gives me some interesting topics to right about. For example, had I never gone out on a random Tuesday, I never would of sat at work all day on Wednesday trying to think of ways to sleep in a bathroom stall. Little did I know, it would eventually lead to my invention of the Bathroom Stall Hammock, as well as a few other things.

5. Great For Networking

I always seem to meet more interesting people on weekdays, probably because there are more business minded people out having a few drinks. It seems like the people out on Friday and Saturday are out for one reason, to get wasted (I’ll admit I am usually one of them). Lately I have been handing out a lot of business cards with my website on them and it has been helping a lot. You never know who might come check out the website and enjoy it.

5 Reasons you SHOULDN’T Go Out on Weekdays:

1. Drinks Are Dirt Cheap

Notice some similarity to the first reason above? Yeah, cheap drinks are great when you are on a low budget, but just about any poor kid can scrape up $20 to go to the bar. This means your spending $5 to get in the door, and another $10 to $15 on drinks. Anyone knows drinking 10 u-call its will put anyone down. And this can lead to some interesting stories, both good and bad…

2. Those Rough Mornings

I am usually angry when I hear my alarm clock go off on any typical day, but when I am hungover, it is far, far worse. This morning my motivation to go to work was about as high as a kids going to get his/her wisdom teeth pulled. Sleep was the only thing on my mind, but I guess that will have to wait until this afternoon. I have some Entrecards I need to drop first.

3. Those “You Look Ill’s” You Receive The Next Day

Countless times, I always so up for work on time after partying the night before, but for some reason, people always notice something different about you. It usually leads to coworkers saying “You Look Ill” all day, but all I am thinking is “No I am Not! I’m just hungover so leave me alone.” It gets old after you hear it a few too many times, unless you take your manager’s advice and take the day off early. Ahhh. those are the good ol’ days.

4. Getting Into A Rhythm Of Doing It All The Time

Another downside to going out on weekdays is that you eventually fall into a rythm of going out everynight. It seems like the more you do it, the easier it gets. I remember back in January when my friend came home from Iraq, we went out like 6 nights in a row. By the 4th night, I was waking up BEFORE my alarm went off every morning ready to go to work. This is something I still cannot do if I do not go out the night before.

5. There Is No 5th Reason

As far as I can tell, there are only 4 reasons why you shouldn’t go out on weekdays. So that leads me to believe that going out is the better choice. Hmm, something tells me that isn’t right, otherwise they would of taught this in class back in college.

Well there you have it, the best reasons I could come up with. So the next time someone invites you out on weekday, come read this and it should help you make up your mind. But please, do not take my word for it, I will not be responsible for anything that happens to you, unless it is good.

PS. I am not an alcoholic, just a man that enjoys drinking a few beers with random people from around the world

Then run through the day-after checklist:

iPhone, Check. Wallet, Check. Keys, Check.

Looks like everything is intact. Last night was a tad rough, considering I feel like I got hit by a bus. I am in search of a miracle cure to help get me over this hangover. Now that Airborne is no longer an option, what other hangover cures are available?

Well, I turned to my trusted friend Google to find some answers. I found a ton of websites and scanned through a ton of them and decided to make a list of some of the best (and worst) ones I could fine.

Best:

The Bloody Mary

This actually sounds good right now. It has a little alcohol to get you feeling better, plus it has vitamins from the tomato juice that can actually help you feel better.

Greasy Food

Nothing like a big fat greasy burger to make you feel great. Except right now my appetite is pretty much non-existant. I guess I can try and force something down.

Sleep

I have tried this one but I do not think it is helping much. Maybe I just need to sleep some more..

Drink Water

I have consumed about 5 bottles of water so far today. It is hard to say if it is working or not. But it can never hurt to give the body some good ol’ H2O.

Over-the-Counter medications

Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or any other OTC medication. I know from experience that this one works. I just popped a Tylenol so I hope to be feeling better in a little bit.

Worst:

Avoiding Alcohol

Yeah this one is a no brainer. Of course it would work if I would of applied it yesterday. But the damage is already done.

Water in Between Drinks

Another “remedy” that might work if you try it while you are drinking. I fail to use this because the last thing on my mind when drinking is to remember to get a glass of water every time I order a drink.

Chaser

Yeah, that pill you see in drug stores and GNC’s everywhere. I have used it multiple times and a few mornings I think I actually felt worse after trying Chaser.

Basically, there is no cure for hangovers except time. It takes the body awhile to figure out what the hell happened. But some things can help aid the pain until you start feeling normal again. I think cutting back on the drinking is the real cure. But that is a work in progress…

Well its officially Sunday, the crappiest day of the week. This weekend was another long weekend of booze, bars, sun, and live music.

It was 85 degrees yesterday so we hit up Dos Gringos at like 5 and drank a couple buckets of Corona. It is an outdoor bar and they had a live band playing all night. After that, we hit up an Irish Pub and drank New Castles all night.

What I enjoy about going out and talking to new people everyday, is the conversations I have with people. It seems like every conversation starts with the two question: Where are you from? and What do you do?

Here is one I had last night with a woman from Texas:

Me: Well let’s see, I live here in Phoenix, moved here from Honolulu, and am originally from Wisconsin. And I plan to move again in a few months.

Her: Wow that is pretty interesting. Where are you going to live next?

Me: The World

Her: What!?

Me: Yeah, my friend and I are creating a new online reality show called The Roadtripperz. We’re going to live in an RV and travel around the US. When we’re done with that, we plan on heading to Europe, Australia, and just about anywhere else worth visiting.

Her: Wow, that is pretty intense.

Me: Yeah thats why our company is called That’s Intense LLC

Her: Ha Ha

As you can see, it seems that these stories blow other peoples minds. I guess I can consider myself an out of the ordinary person. But why not be? I mean working the same 9-5 job until you are 65 is not that fun of a way to travel through life. It is much better being a spontaneous type of person that tries everything once. There really is nothing to lose by trying crazy things. Worst case scenario is you dig out that piece of paper you worked so hard to get and apply for a few jobs.

So take my advice, get out there and try the things you really want to do in life, you won’t regret it!
