Haircut Fail…Or Win?

Is that a bob haircut? I sort of resemble Suri Cruise…

Anyways, after much debate I decided it was time to say goodbye to the long hair. I’ve had it for more than a year now and wanted to change it up a bit. It’s 1,000 degrees outside and short hair is so much cooler. Plus I’ve had enough of the Jesus comparisons (and Kenny Loggins).

How Much Hair Did I Have?

Good question. I didn’t take the time to measure it but I did snap a few pictures of my hair prior to experimenting with it. Take a look:

As you can see, I had a decent amount of hair. It was a year and a half worth of growth so it took some time to get that length.

How Much Hair Did I Cut Off?

So now you’re wondering, how much hair did I cut off? Here’s the aftermath on our bathroom floor:

That’s pretty much all of my hair. My girlfriend started by cutting a bunch off with a scissors, which lead to the bob looking haircut you saw at the beginning of the post.

At that point, we decided to hop in the car and went to the store to buy a hair trimmer set. I actually sported that haircut to the store for awhile and felt pretty good about it (actually I felt like a moron).

Once we got back, she started with the #8 clipper on my whole head. From there, we kept dropping numbers until I decided to get rid of it all. We ended up doing the #3 clipper on my whole head.

The End Result

Here’s the end result and what I currently look like:

I must say, it feels great. Especially when I woke up this morning and didn’t have to do a thing to my hair. Plus it feels so much better when I’m outside. It’s going to take a little getting used to but I’m okay with that. I can finally stop wearing hats since I never had the time to actually do anything with my hair.

It’s a haircut win!

From time to time, I spend some time on YouTube looking at the funniest and cheesiest music videos I can find. I also find some totally awesome music videos now and then. Here is a compilation I put together of some of the best (and worst) music videos from the past 30 years or so.

The Stanky Leg

So what is the Stanky Leg? According to Urban Dictionary, the Stanky Leg is:

A dance which originated in Texas consisting of bending ones knees and rotating a leg like a jump rope. It is the lamest dance ever created.

So why oh why am I telling you this?

Because every so often, people email me and ask me if I can do a blog review for them. If it’s a blog I really like, I usually mention it in a post or help spread it through other social networks. If it’s a blog I really dislike, I usually move on. However, sometimes it’s a blog that makes me say “wow” to myself.

These are the blogs that deserve a full review. And today’s post is just that…a blog review of Stanky Leg Videos.

Overview

What this blog does is take all of the best Stanky Leg videos from YouTube and puts them in one easy to find place. Which is great, if you were actually looking for Stanky Leg videos…

I have never (ever) heard of the Stanky Leg dance until I read this email and watched some of the videos. I guess that shows how much I dislike hip hop and club style music.

Believe it or not, I did find some of these videos to be pretty damn funny. Especially the nerds doing the Stanky Leg (Nerds Doing The Stanky Leg).

Design

The design of stanky-leg.com is actually pretty good. It is using a pretty good theme that makes it easy to watch videos, rate them, and navigate through the archives.

Overall, the design of the blog is pretty good as well as the custom logo which features some dude in a red shirt (or baseball jersey?) doing the Stanky Leg on a tv screen.

Time Wasting Ability

When it comes to the ability to waste time, this blog really shines. It’s a great pleace to eat up 10, 15, even 25 minutes of your precious human life. It’s one of those sites that makes you look at the clock and say “I wish I had those 10 minutes back.”

But then again, there’s always time to kill. Besides, what else would you be doing sitting on the computer all day? Especially if you are sitting at work as you read this.

Conclusion

Overall, the blog isn’t so bad. It’s got the Stanky Leg niche covered that I didn’t even know existed. It appears the site is already getting some decent traffic and the owner (who happens to be a friend of mine) told me the site has only been up a few days. Not bad at all.

So take a few minutes and go educate yourself on the Stanky Leg. You never know when you just might need to pull it off…

Some Awesome Improv Videos

While surfing around YouTube yesterday, I managed to find an awesome T Mobile commercial that aired in Europe (I think). It has a bunch of people dancing in a train station which was pretty awesome. Check it out:

After I watched that video, I ended up clicking on some related videos. This lead me to watching all of the videos from Improve Everywhere. Here are some of my favorites.

Best Buy

A bunch of people dressed up in blue shirts and khakis walk into a Best Buy store…hillarious!

Frozen Grand Central

A huge group of people freeze for 5 minutes in Grand Central Station, then continue on with their normal tasks.

Slo-Mo Home Depot

A bunch of people go shopping at Home Depot and start moving in slow motion. Very weird…

No Shirts

Exactly 111 guys walk into Abercrombie without their shirts on. It’s pretty damn funny since all of the posters in the store usually have guys with their shirts off.

A few days ago I was looking through my Google Analytics reports and clicked on the keyword feature to see what keywords my visitors have been using to find my blog. After looking over the whole list, I noticed 7 keyword phrases that make me really proud of my blog. I never would of guessed I would rank for these terms but now that I do, I love it. Haha.
