30 Days on DVD…Plus A Free Give-Away!

There are not many shows these days that I actually like watching on TV. But one I do like watching is “30 Days“, which is hosted my Morgan Spurlock from the movie, “Supersize Me.”

What Is It About?

If you are not familiar with the show, here is a quick synopsis:

“The intelligent and innovative TV show that dares to ask: Do we really know what it’s like to see the world through our neighbors’ eyes?”

“30 Days features a diverse group of participants, each given the opportunity to experience first-hand a world antithetical to their own, comfortable existence. Each episode examines a very different subject and is hosted by Morgan Spurlock. In the final episode, Spurlock is also a participant as he turns the camera on himself. “

Why I Like the Show

I love this show because it encourages people to see things from different perspectives. No one really knows what it is like to see something from someone else’s point of view.

It really forces you to have an open mind and I like that. There are not enough people in this world that have an open mind to new things and concepts. Just because you were raised one way doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try viewing things from other angles.

The show also makes it clear on hard it is for people in certain circumstances. When I saw the episode about living on minimum wage, it really made me think. It would be hard to live that way and the show makes it very clear.

It made me realize that my situation is far better than a lot of unfortunate people. I am grateful for everything I have in my life and need to keep focus on that.

Now For the Give-Away!

The Day The Internet Died

Congratulations on making it to another Friday. You once again managed to survive the work week.

Today I thought I would share one of the funniest things I have seen in awhile. The new South Park that was on Wednesday was all about the internet.

Everyone in South Park wakes up one morning and heads right to their computers. Little do they know, the internet is completely down nationwide. People start panicking and realize how many things are dependent on the internet.

People could no longer check E-mail, chat online, or see pictures from their friends vacations. Even the news stopped airing news because they usually got it off the internet.

Check out this video of the show:

It makes you wonder what would actually happen if the internet did die one day. I think the whole world would be up in chaos. Just imagine what would happen to companies like Amazon and Google. Not to mention banks and credit card companies.

Luckily, the odds of this ever happening are pretty much slim to none. Besides, all it takes to fix the internet is unplugging the router and plugging it back in. Oops, I just spoiled the ending of the show.

Rock of Love 2 vs. Tuesdays

You read that title right. Today’s debate is between Rock of Love 2 and Tuesdays.

I have officially changed my mind and now believe that Tuesday is the worst day of the week. I used to think Monday’s were the worst, but not so much anymore. Monday is just a slow transition from the weekend to the work week. I really do not put forth much effort until at least Tuesday.

The nightlife on Tuesday sucks here. I wanted to go out last night in Phoenix but could not find a good place to go to save my life. When I lived in Wisconsin and Hawaii, Tuesdays were always a great night out. So please, if you know of a good place to go out in the Phoenix area on Tuesdays, let me know. Otherwise Tuesday will continue to be known as the worst day of the week.

Rock of Love 2…don’t even get me started on this show. If you missed my post yesterday about The Hills, you’ll see that I devoted the whole post to the show and how much I hate it. Well last night, I ended up watching the Rock of Love 2 since I could not find a single thing on television worth watching.

The really sad thing is it is the second season of the show. Like one wasn’t enough. I mean do we really need to watch a bunch of girls compete to win Bret’s heart? Is this really where society is going? I thought love was something you found on your own, not by winning a reality TV show.

I just hate the fact all of these reality shows are obviously scripted. You can tell a lot of the “contestants” are actors because they have been on other reality shows. Why can’t they just put some “real people” on a show and see what happens. I would rather watch a bunch of drunk people try and find their way out of a corn maze.

Feel free to voice your opinion and vote on today’s poll:

PS. A new “Ask Me A Question” feature has been added to my site. So please, feel free to ask me ANY type of question about ANYTHING. I will pick a few to answer on a post every week.

Did I Just Watch That Crap?

Last night was The Hills Season Premiere on MTV and of course, I watched it.

Why? I have no idea. Probably because I’ve seen a thousand commercials for it this week and see the characters on every magazine at the grocery store.

Anyways, I can sum up last nights premiere in one simple word…crap.

Seriously, what was the point of it? The plot was terrible. It started with Spencer going up to Colorado to try and win his girlfriend back. I’m still trying to figure out what they actually do for “jobs.” Seems like their days consist of nothing but going out to eat and having a few drinks. It must be nice to not have to spend 50 hours a week in a cubicle pretending to care about your job. What made me happy was finding a post titled Everyone Hates Spencer on another blog.

Watching Spencer and Heidi going out to eat every night really does make some terrible television. I would rather watch Heidi Montag’s music video for “Higher” on repeat. At least I could get a good laugh out of it. If you haven’t seen the Best Week Ever’s version, check it out:

Click Here If The Video Isn’t Showing

If that wasn’t entertaining enough, the rest of the show consisted of Lauren and her coworker going to Paris for some work events. Basically it was the story of 2 American bimbo’s going to Paris. The highlight of the show was when Lauren discovers that she burned the hell of out her dress with a curling iron. Who would think press a blazing hot curling iron against a dress would cause it to turn brown?

Luckily, a prince comes to the rescue and finds her a new dress just in time for her to make it to her ball. Man, I sure wish my problems were this pathetic. I thought I was watching The Hills, not A Cinderella Story.

Lauren then ends up going on a date with a pretty bad ass looking dude. They zoom in on him smoking cigarettes on his motorcycle, only to find out it’s a scooter. Is this seriously on television right now?

He takes her around the city and shows her what Paris has to offer. This really is some of the worst television I have ever seen. This is nothing like reality, unless I am living in the wrong one.

So basically, the entire episode of The Hills was about 2 girls going to Paris and a guy trying to get his girlfriend back. What a waste of time. I really do not understand why everyone thinks this show is so great. I’d rather watch Tila Tequila try and find a boyfriend/girlfriend for the 7th time.

PS. Please feel free to comment, I would love to hear other people’s views of this show.

Paris Hilton Needs A New Best Friend

Paris HiltonToday, bored at work like usual, I managed to come across the website for Paris Hilton’s new reality TV show. It seems she is in need of a new best friend, and MTV is going to help her find one with a show entitled “Paris Hilton’s My New Best Friend”.

When I first saw this, I must admit, I laughed about as hard as anyone possibly could. If I would of had milk in my mouth, it would have flown out both nostrils.

Is this what television has come to? Seriously, has television gotten so bad that now we have to watch average people compete to become celebrities best friends?

I am pretty sure Paris Hilton should not have any trouble finding a new best friend. Come find me Paris, I will be your new best friend. Obviously the only reason she is doing this show is to get back on television, and I cannot blame here.

Anyways, as much as I hate the entire plot for this new show, I figured what the heck? I might as well setup a profile for it. If this show is going to be on television, they might as well throw someone crazy on it like me. Maybe I can make the show interesting by blowing everyone else’s minds with my outlook on life, jobs, and everything in between. Besides, I would make a great celebrity BFF, wouldn’t I?

So today, I would like to officially announce my candidacy to run to become Paris Hilton’s new best friend. My goal of this blog was to blog my way to fame, so I figured I might as well give this a shot. Besides, MTV needs something different, and I am the difference (at least I like to think so, lol).

It seems that the casting is based on a voting game where the more votes you get, the more likely you are to get casted. However, I have already noticed that it looks like some candidates are finding ways to get tons of votes.

One of the requirements for becoming a possible cast member, was answering a few questions provided by MTV. I did not feel like spending a lot of time on them, so here are some of the answers I threw together when I was filling out the application:

Do you consider yourself fabulous? How so?

Yes, I would say I consider myself fabulous and it is for many reasons. I am a very intelligent and outgoing person that enjoys taking risks. I am not the average Joe who sits back and lets things happen to them instead of making them happen to you. I try everything, and often work as hard as I can to accomplish everything I hope to accomplish.

What qualities make you the perfect celebrity BFF?

I think the number one quality that makes me a great celebrity BFF is my personality. I have stories I could tell forever and they would never grow old or stop laughing. I live a not so ordinary life and it makes me a unique person. I am also very energetic and not afraid to be around lots of people, even strangers.

It’s hard to stay in the public eye. How would you maintain the limelight?

I would have no problems whatsoever maintaining the limelight. I pretty much put everything out there for everyone to see. I have been approached a few times about my blog and I enjoy the attention. Being in front of cameras and tons of people is what I live for, so bring it on.

So everyone that is willing, please vote for me by visiting my profile here. All you have to do is click on the vote for me button and then you are allowed to vote once a day so I would be very appreciative if anyone is willing to vote for me as much as they can. I placed a button on my right sidebar which should make it real easy. I plan to give out some rewards to those that vote for me the most (Entrrcards perhaps?).

I promise, if I somehow get on this show, this blog will become even more entertaining. Just imagine what my posts would be like if I am hanging out with Paris Hilton. I’d have even more time to come up with ideas like the Bathroom Stall Hammock and Why You Should Party on Weekdays.

Wish me luck!
