News From the Weekend
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I managed to get drunk, watch football, rip my blog theme apart, and completely rebuild most of it from the beginning up. I guess it was a pretty constructive weekend…
What’s New With the Theme?
Believe it or not, the entire theme itself is different. After hours on end of looking at php and css code, I managed to make it look VERY close to the old theme.
The first major difference is that the sidebar has been cleaned up and simplified. I wanted to incorporate a E-mail form so people can subscribe to receive updates, tips, and awesome information about anything I can think of. I even squeezed in links to all of my social network profiles.
I also added some new features to the homepage such as the Popular Posts section at the top. I wanted a way to showcase some of my best posts at the top along with some awesome pictures.
My Two Week Notice…
The Time Has Finally Come
Well everyone, I have finally dropped the bomb and have given my two week notice. This has been long overdue, dating back to when I first started sometime in December. If you are new to my blog, my post Office Jobs: The Tipping Point from way back in April sums up my feelings on office jobs in the best way.
It has been a long ride, with a lot of ups and downs. A lot of my best posts were written as a result of my job. I even came up with a movie idea, Escape From the Cube Farm. I am surprised I stuck with it this long, but in a way I am glad I did. It made me realize that I can stick to anything as long as I try and stay positive (although it was REALLY hard as some points).
Where Do I Go From Here?
So the real question is what am I going to do now? My answer is give full-time blogging a go. I have tried hard in the past, but I have never hopped into it and given 100% of my time to actually making something happen. I now have the motivation to do it and make the best of it.
My 25 Seconds of Radio Fame
I Plugged My YouTube Video on the Radio
Last night on the way home from work I was listening to KSLX 100.7. It’s a classic rock station here in Phoenix. Anyways, the guy was talking about his brother-in-law sandbagging it at his job in hopes of getting fired to collect unemployment. I thought it was hilarious since I have contemplated the same thing for some time now. He then asked the question:
Is Anyone Else Out There Tying to Get Fired?
And that’s when it hit me. The perfect opportunity to call in and try and get on the radio. I tried calling about 5 times and got nothing but a ringing phone. Luckily, on the 6th try the guy answered and asked what I have been doing to get fired.
Where Do I Start?
I told him I have been trying to get fired since I started my job in December. I had even written some blog posts about it, including the 5 things I have tried to get fired post. And let’s not forget the Personal Evaluation I posted.
13 Reasons To Follow Me on Twitter
Lately I have been getting a lot more in to Twitter. Or maybe I am just that much more bored at work and need something new to waste time on. Anyways, I like how easy it is to use and really makes staying in touch a lot easier. So, I decided to come up with a short list on why you should follow me:

1. The sheer randomness of my tweets.
Yes, there about as random as the posts on this blog. But hey, it makes life interesting.
2. It lets you know where in the world I am (I travel a lot)
Life of Justin has a lot to do with my adventures, so I tweet as much as I can while I am on the road.
3. Because I’m hilarious and you like to laugh
At least I try to be. You could always laugh at the fact that I actually thing of myself as being hilarious.
The Arizona Science Center
2 General Admission Tickets: 18 dollars
2 Planetarium Passes: 16 dollars
Seeing Broken Exhibits and Listening to Kids Scream All Day: Anything but Priceless….
This past Saturday, I checked out the Arizona Science Center located in downtown Phoenix. It’s a science center/museum that contains a bunch of different exhibits on different things such as weather and technology. The center also features an Imax Theater and the new Dorrance Planetarium.
First Impression = Way Too Many Unsupervised Little Kids
I knew the place was going to be focused around kids, but I did not know there was going to be that many kids running around with lack of supervision. I am not talking about kids being dropped off and left alone, but rather parents neglecting to pay attention to what their kids are actually doing.
Parents were just minding their own business by the snack bar while their kids ran around screaming, running into other people, and knocking random things over. It was more like a zoo than a science center.
There were some kids behaving and doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing, looking at the exhibits and asking questions. But all the others, were busy hoping in the elevators and throwing candy wrappers on the ground. It just about drove me insane.
Pulling Off the Moonwalk at Church
The Sweetest Church Dance Moves Ever
My girlfriend is an avid reader of Dlisted.com, a blog that covers celebrity news and what not. Anyways, she shared a video with me that was mentioned there and I thought I would share if with everyone.
The video is from The Way International Church, which is apparently located somewhere in Ohio. Not real sure what type of church it is, but it is definitely one that is all about dancing. The moves these 3 people have are crazy. The moonwalk is…
A Look Back At My Goals for 2008
Back in February, I made a post titled 10 Unusual Goals for 2008. The post contained ten things that I wanted to accomplish this year. After looking back at it, I wanted to make some updates and cross some things off.
So here they are:
Blog My Life
This is my favorite goal on the list, and I can honestly say I have succeeded at it.
Be On a Television Show
This isn’t something I really care about anymore, but I did manage to get on a reality television show here in Phoenix.
Act In A Movie
At this point in life, I am not real concerned about acting in a movie. It would be great, but it can wait. Therefore it’s getting crossed off.
Make Boatloads Of Money
In the beginning of the year, I wanted nothing more than to make tons of money. However, I have since realized that money is not what I am after. I even made a list of things that make me happy besides money. Therefore, this goal is gone, poof.
