A New Look For A New Year

Right before 2009 came around, I had the idea of redesigning my blog to celebrate a new year of blogging. Unfortunately, I was swamped the last few weeks with freelance work and didn’t get around to it.

But over the last 25 hours I have managed to put together a brand new look for Life of Justin. I’m pretty much ready to go to sleep at this point for the next 15 hours or so…

Why The Change?

Ever since changing to my last theme, I have been chopping my theme up to the point where I hardly even knew what was going on. I had a ton of templates for each category and different sidebars. Instead of cleaning it up, I just wanted to dump the thing and start fresh.

Here Boomer!

Today’s post is a sign that was outside Filibertos. First off, it’s sad that someone lost there dog. I really hope they find it. However, the real question is how does Boomer hear his name? The things we’ll never know…

So Long Bank Of America…

After many screwups, unnecessary charges, and poor customer service…I finally said so long to Bank of America. It’s going to be a great day after all.

5 Things I Learned While Buying A New TV

If you still don’t have digital cable, you probably have seen the big analog symbol at the top of your TV. They constantly remind us about getting a converter box. However, my girlfriend and I decided it would be better to just by a new TV. So we went out looking this weekend and ended up buying an LCD TV (I’ll review it later this week).

Anyways, here are a few things I learned from the whole experience:

1. Best Buy Employees Are Annoying

In my opinion, Best Buy has gotten even worse than it used to be about their employees constantly asking you if you need help. Maybe they are trying even harder now that Circuit City is gone…who knows.

Yesterday, I managed to get 6 or 7 employees to come by me and ask if I wanted some help with something. And this happened in less than 20 minutes and I only looked at one section of the store. So all of the employees came to me.

If that wasn’t enough, I even managed to get two Best Buy/DirectTV employees to come over and offer me some information on their new “pilot” program. Luckily, I lost them at “neither” when they asked if I had Satellite or Cable.

Kodak Zi6 Review

If you missed yesterday’s post about riding my bike, I posted a video using my new digital video camera. I wanted to see how well the quality was when uploading to YouTube. Anyways, as promised I am doing a review of the camera today.

The camera is a Kodak Zi6, which I picked up at Wal-mart for $170. I wanted something that could shoot good quality videos yet still be small enough to take with me where ever I go. Which is why I decided on the Kodak camera instead of a more expensive video camera.

The Size And Weight

Like I mentioned above, the Kodak Zi6 is small enough to fit in my pocket. I can even hold it in my hand and record while I am riding my bike. Here is a picture of the camera next to my Apple iPhone:

As you can see, it’s basically the same size as my iPhone. It’s a little thicker but that is not a problem.

A Quick Ride To The Coffee Shop

Since I wrote a few posts about my bike, I thought I would share a quick ride with you. The main reason is because I just bought a new video camera that shoots in high definition. I thought I would test it out and see what the quality is like on YouTube now that it offers HD. So check it out:

The Quality Is WAY Better

The quality is far better than my old Casio point and shoot camera that did video. It was always grainy and hard to see things in detail.

Season Premiere Of Lost Tonight!

Well it’s finally January 21st…the day that season 5 of Lost Premiers on ABC. It’s one of the only shows I watch these days so I’ve been waiting for this day to come.

Funny thing is, I have never watched Lost on TV before. This past Christmas, I rented season 1 and 2 and started watching them. After watching the first two seasons, I became super addicted to the show and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So over a period of like two weeks I managed to watch all 4 season of lost. Yeah it’s pretty pathetic…

The hard thing was, I watched all of them back to back. When I got done with the season 4 finale, I was ready to drive to the studios and demand answers. Luckily, the premier is tonight and it starts with a 1 hour recap followed by two episodes. Woo!
