West Wind Scottsdale 6 Drive-In

This past weekend, I did something I haven’t done in a few years. And I have certainly never done it in the month of January. What I did, was check out a move at a drive-in. Actually, I saw two movies for the price of one. Even better…

The Experience

The West Wind Scottsdale 6 drive-in is a pretty cool place. They have six screens all laid out in a circle type pattern and had a really good selection of movies. The price was $6.25 per adult, but this included two movies. It was even cheaper than seeing one movie at a movie theater.

Overall, this place had a lot of positives.. First off, it’s nice being able to pack a cooler and bring your own food. It’s also nice to be able to lay back in your car with some blankets and not have to listen to screaming children in the background. During the first movie, I even sat outside for a few minutes since the weather was nice. We had no problems finding a good place to park and the movie was pretty clear on the screen.

The Cardinals Are Super Bowl Bound!

For those of you who missed it, the Arizona Cardinals beat the Eagles yesterday to go to the Super Bowl. The game was awesome and I was on the edge of my seat the entire second half. Who would of thought? The Cardinals in the Super Bowl…

It’s been a long year of watching football, especially since the Cardinals ended the regular season looking pretty ugly. Luckily they turned it around when the playoffs started and have been looking good since.

Head To Tampa?

Following the game, I had the bright idea of taking a road trip to Tampa to check it out. It’s a 36 hour drive which is a little intense. A few guys next to me were aso thinking about doing it since it would be cheaper than flying.

But after looking on Craigslist and other sites, it looks like Super Bowl tickets are already going for $2,000 a piece. A little high for me…

Phoenix Is Not So Bicycle Friendly…

Ever since I bought my bike a week ago, I have been doing some major riding around Chandler, Tempe, and Phoenix. Yesterday I did about 15 miles and a few times before that I did a 10 mile ride. I’ve started to see more and more of the city, especially when it comes to the bike lane system. And the easiest way for me to sum it up is by saying…it sucks.

The Best Of The Cities

Of the three cities I do most of my riding in, Tempe is the best. It has even won awards as a bicycle friendly community through 2007 (according to the sign I saw). However, even this city is pretty crappy when it comes to riding bicycles. Sure, they have tons and tons of bike lanes all over the city.

The problem…is that hardly any of them connect. I’ll be riding along a bike lane and hit a stop light, only to see the bike lane disappear into thin air on the other side of the intersection. So I’m stuck riding on the side of the road, which gives me about 2 feet of space between me and the crazy drivers of phoenix. What in the hell?

Mmm Tabasco Habanero Sauce…

So the other day, I happened to find some Tabasco habanero sauce on clearance (I wonder why?). So of course, I grabbed a bottle of it since I have been addicted to spicy foods for the last 5 months or so. My first impression is that this stuff burns. I put a few dabs on my tongue and immediately noticed the difference between it and regular Tabasco sauce. It’s awesome.

Then I Got To Thinking…

I wonder what a habanero pepper tastes like? It’s considered one of the hottest peppers in the world so it must be pretty damn hot. I hopped on over to YouTube and took a look at some videos of people eating them. Which brings us to this video:

Best Job In The World

If you haven’t seen this yet, you have to check it out. An Australian state is offering one of the coolest jobs ever. Not only does it pay $105,000, but it also includes free airfare and rent! Here is a link to the news article.

So What Is The Job?

From the looks of it, the main job responsibility is to just “hang out.” For 6 months, the person gets to surf, snorkel, and have all the fun they want down under. The main task is to report to the world via photos, blogs, and other forms of media. Sounds perfect doesn’t it?

I think I am a great candidate for the position. I can surf, snorkel, and stroll the beach with the best of them. Throw in my badass blogging skills and they can’t pass me up. Haha

A Long Overdue Drinking Story

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a good drinking story to share with everyone. Luckily, this past Saturday was a great time that is worth sharing.

The Beginning

My Saturday started like any other day, with a bowl of cereal and some orange juice. Little did I know, I would end up consuming like 8,000 calories after that. The drinking started when my girlfriend and I decided to go to a Mexican bar and restaurant here in Phoenix for some fajitas and margaritas.

Of course, we order a pitcher of Margaritas instead of small ones. Might as well get the best bang for your buck. After drinking those I already had a little buzz going and I was stuff from the fajitas.

The Cardinals Party

From there, we went to Cadillac Ranch for the Cardinals viewing party put on by Buweise. I was jacked up for the game because I knew the Cardinals could win. We got there around 2:30 so we could get a seat somewhere by the TV. Unfortunately, this gave me 3 and a half hours of drinking time before the game even started.

I started with the 2 dollar bud lights and probably had like 4 or 5 of them before kick off. At that point, I was starting to get a little drunk but I was too occupied with the game to notice.

My New Transportation

A few weeks ago, I finally managed to sell my Chevy Cobalt. Since then, I have been looking for a new way of getting around. Originally, I wrote a post about my new ride being a set of rollerblades. However, it’s not that easy getting around town on rollerblades.

A New Bike

So instead, I decided to buy a new bicycle. Check it out:

I’ve been looking at bikes for about a month now before I finally pulled the trigger and bought one yesterday.
