Life of Justin: Greatest Hits
One thing I have never done here on Life of Justin is put together a list of my favorite posts of all time. In other words, a greatest hits album without any music (or album for that matter).
So last night I took a long look at my archives page and went through all the posts I have written over the years.
It took awhile…that’s for sure. I’ve written a lot more posts than I thought. It’s amazing how my writing skills have changed with time. My earlier posts were pretty bad.
Anyways, I managed to come up with a list of my favorite posts of all time. I chose these posts by hand without looking at any stats or comments. These are the posts that I really think make up my blog.
Here We Go:
1. The Bathroom Stall Hammock
Believe it or not, this is my favorite post of all time. I think it’s the idea of sleeping in a bathroom stall that gets me…
2. It’s Time To Release A Sex Tape
This is my second favorite post of all time. Why? Because it was the first time I had ever received a phone call from my mom saying “I was scared to click play.”
3. 5 Things I Have Tried To Get Fired
I look back at this post and can’t believe the things I did to try and get fired. I’m still upset that I failed.
4. 8 Low Stress Careers
I really liked this post because I took a really crappy Yahoo article and made it WAY better.
5. My 6 Month Personal Evaluation
Another work related post that makes me say “wow.” If only I would of handed this copy in.
6. Why You Should Never Shoplift
This sign still cracks me up when I look at it.
7. 11 Ways To Kill Time At Work
It looks like work related posts are going to dominate the greatest hits.
8. A New Journey Starts Today
On a serious note, this post marked the day I escaped from the office job. It is also the day that the timer started on my sidebar.
9. Facebook Slapped Me On The Wrist
I love this post because every few days I will either get an email or Facebook message from someone having the same problem.
10. 7 Things I Learned About Mustaches
It was creepy. Enough said…
11. 5 Reasons You Should (And Shouldn’t) Party On Weekdays
A pretty good list of reasons why you should (and shouldn’t) party on weekdays. A true Life of Justin classic if I say so myself.
12. The Commute From Hell
This post brings back a mental picture of what it was like driving to work everyday. I sure don’t miss that commute. I much prefer my current commute which is approximately 13 feet from my bed to my desk.
13. Office Jobs: The Tipping Point
This post is what sparked my adventure to quit my job in the first place. Looking back at it gives me the motivation I need to keep making money online and freelancing.
14. How to Prevent Stupid Questions
Man I hated technical support jobs.
15. The Hike To Browns Peak
One of my favorite hikes of all time. The video is crappy but still gives everyone a good idea of what it was like up there.
16. An Interview With Tim Ferriss
Of all the people I have interviewed in my life, this was my favorite. Plus I loved his book.
17. White Sands Backpacking
White Sands was one of the coolest (and weirdest) places I have ever been.
18. Introducing The 4 Day Work Week
I figured this post should make it in here since it was one of the most popular posts due to a large amount of StumbleUpon traffic.
19. 5 Ways To Cope With A Hangover At Work
And last but not least…5 ways to beat the hangover blues at work. I sure don’t miss that feeling. The only thing worse than sitting in a cubicle is sitting in a cubicle that’s spinning.
It’s Been A Long Run So Far
Luckily I haven’t had to use my inhaler yet…
Looking back at all of these posts just reminded me how long it has been since I started blogging. I can safely say I am proud of myself for sticking with it. And this goes to show that blogging does take a lot of time and effort before you start seeing any results.
It also made me realize that my shitty office job was the main reason this blog became successful. I guess people really do enjoy reading about things they can relate to.
Think a different one should of been number 1? Did I miss any posts?
Published on February 24th, 2009. And don't forget to check out my book, Life After the Cubicle.

Nice to see all the oldies but goodies. I agree with most of your picks, they are definitely most of your good work. I think they were all written within a pretty short amount of time of each other too, what’s up with that? Hopefully you get back into that posting storm like you used to be. Good luck with everything man.
Strange but true – last week sometime I went flicked through your archives and actually picked out 80% of those posts (based on title alone) to read! Enjoyed them all, especially the ways you tried to get fired! x
Hey Justin, I like #2–release a sex tape…hey, if you need help, I just bought a videocam…and we can become internet celebrities the way Kim Kardashian and RayJ did…just kidding. I love reading your blog. Keep up the good work.
My favorite is the 4-day workweek one. I love the graph on productivity and wish I could use it to show to my boss.
What a fun thing to do, go though your blog and find the greatest blogs. It was fun to go though and read your favorite. Another fun thing to do is to ask the readers what is their favorite and have your favorite album and a readers favorites.
Wow – I have never before seen such a clean ‘Gentleman’s Convenience’!
A very cool blog though.
I would totally buy that hammock. I get so bored at work that I would do anything to catch a few minutes of sleep.
