The Spaghetti Warehouse

As I mentioned earlier this week, my goal is to write a lot of reviews about bars, restaurants, and things to see and do in Austin. So I thought I would keep with it and write a review about The Spaghetti Warehouse, which is where I had dinner last night.
Location
The Spaghetti Warehouse is located at 117 West 4th Street, which is in downtown in Austin. It’s pretty easy to find since it’s right off of Congress. The only thing that could be tough is parking. We rode our bikes which was pretty easy since there were bike racks right around the corner to lock them up.
The Building
At first glance, you will notice that this place is pretty old. It’s in an old warehouse, which happens to be located in the Warehouse District of downtown Austin. I must say, it sure beats looking at a cookie cutter style restaurant like the ones I am used to seeing.
The inside is even cooler. The walls are decorated in old magazine covers, advertisements, and memorabilia. Best of all, there is an old train inside which has tables inside it. My girlfriend wanted to sit in the train so we asked the waitress and she had no problems seating us in the train. On a side note, it appears families with kids tend to be seated in the train, so I would stay away from it if you want to have a quiet and relaxed dinner.
Beer & Wine
The Spaghetti Warehouse has a decent selection of wines at affordable prices. The house wines run around 5 dollars a glass and 15 dollars a bottle. The more expensive wines range in the $6 – $7.50 a glass price range. I ended up going for a beer since we rode our bikes in the heat and the last thing I was craving was a warm glass of red wine.
As far as beer goes, they have the basics on tap like Bud Light, Coors Light, and Miller Light. Not the best selection but they do have bottled beers like Corona, Corona Light, and many others.
How About The Food?
Finally, lets get to the main event. The food was pretty good in my opinion. I went with a simple dinner, which was spaghetti with marinara sauce and grilled chicken on top. It was sort of a healthier version of chicken parmigiana, which happens to be one of my favorites dinners. The spaghetti by itself was under 8 bucks which is pretty good for a dinner.
Our entire meal (two meals, fresh bread, and a beer each) came in at $25. Not bad at all for a night out. It was a lot cheaper than some of the other restaurants we have had in last few weeks. For more information about their menu, check out the online menu.
I’d highly recommend checking out The Spaghetti Warehouse if you are ever in the mood for some italian and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg. I was plenty happy with the food and value I got from the place. Plus it’s a really cool building to eat in.

I haven’t been to the one in Austin, but the one by us was one of the places me and my hubby used to visit a lot when we were first dating. The atmosphere & the excellent service are probably my favorite things about the place.
