If you haven’t noticed, it’s been pretty quiet around here for the last week or so. The reason is because I have been swamped with getting ready to make the move to Austin, Texas. The plan is to leave on the 28th and it is rapidly coming up. It seems like this month is going to fly right by.

Anyways, my apartment is starting to look like the picture above. I always seem to forget how many little things are involved when it comes …

The Scottsdale Culinary Festival

This past Saturday, my girlfriend and I went to the Scottsdale Culinary Festival by accident. We saw that there was a Robert Mondavi wine tasting event in town so we decided to go check it out. Little did we know, the event was part of a MUCH bigger event. The festival had all sorts of booze, beer, and food plus a few awesome cover bands playing.

Here’s a few of the things we managed to check out while we were there.

Great Urban Race: The Aftermath

The Great Urban Race

The Great Urban Race

If you missed my post last Thursday, I talked about the Great Urban Race coming to Phoenix this past weekend. I had pretty high hopes for doing good in the race (I don’t know why). Anyways, now that the race is over and I have all my pictures off my camera, it’s time to break down the race.

The Start

The race started at Sliders in downtown Phoenix. If you don’t know where that is, it is right next to Chase field (Diamondbacks stadium). From there, …

Great Urban Race Is Coming To Phoenix!

Something I have always wanted to do is get on the Amazing Race. It totally fits into the digital nomad lifestyle and I think I would be pretty good at it. Plus I like to solve random riddles whenever I get a chance. Unfortunately, I haven’t landed a spot on the show just yet (come on CBS!).

Luckily there is another option. My girlfriend and I signed up to compete in the Great Urban Race here in Phoenix on Saturday. I’m really looking forward …

The Cardinals Are Super Bowl Bound!

For those of you who missed it, the Arizona Cardinals beat the Eagles yesterday to go to the Super Bowl. The game was awesome and I was on the edge of my seat the entire second half. Who would of thought? The Cardinals in the Super Bowl…

It’s been a long year of watching football, especially since the Cardinals ended the regular season looking pretty ugly. Luckily they turned it around when the playoffs started and have been looking good since.

Head To Tampa?

Following the game, I had the bright idea of taking a road trip to Tampa to check it out. It’s a 36 hour drive which is a little intense. A few guys next to me were aso thinking about doing it since it would be cheaper than flying.

But after looking on Craigslist and other sites, it looks like Super Bowl tickets are already going for $2,000 a piece. A little high for me…

Merry Christmas Everyone

It’s actually Christmas Eve, but I thought I would go ahead and send a Merry Christmas out to everyone. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and spends some time with their family and friends. It’s crazy how fast this month (and year) went by.

It seems like not that long ago I was writing about last Christmas and heading home to visit my family. Look how bad (and short) those posts are! My blogging sure came along way since last Christmas.

So Merry Christmas Everyone! Have A Great …

7 Days Left Of The Mustache

Hey everyone, I just wanted to do another update on my mustache growth. If you have no idea of what I am talking about, check out my post about growing a mustache for charity.

Here’s A Picture

I thought I would share a picture of what I currently look like so that everyone can feel the pain I have been going through to help raise some money. It’s not easy having a mustache…

My Mustache After 3 Weeks

As you can see, I look pretty creepy. I even started drinking Schlitz beer since it feels so right…

Mustaches For Kids in Phoenix

Today I have some big news. I mentioned last Thursday that I started growing a mustache and now is the time to explain it. That’s right, from last Thursday until December 18th, I will by growing what will no doubt be a creepy looking mustache. It’s only been five days and it already looks creepy…

Why The Mustache?

The holiday season is here and there is no better way to start it off than by giving to those in need. Therefore, I decided to join Mustaches for Kids to help support schools around the Phoenix area. Schools are in need of money to provide students with the education experiences they deserve. By giving a donation, you help us fund one of the projects that we have selected to raise money for.

In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. I am asking for you to sponsor my mustache by making a contribution to DonorsChoose.org for $1 per day of my mustache growth (or a one time donation of your choosing). This donation will go directly to local low-income classroom projects here in Phoenix.

Life After the Cubicle

Hey everyone, you have officially found the first ever edition of Life After the Cubicle. Okay fine, it’s more like the pilot edition since it has not yet officially launched. Anyways, this will be an ongoing series that I hope to keep around indefinitely. The series can be found under the Life category on my navigation bar.

Introduction to the Series

Life After the Cubicle is going to be my story about what I am doing now that I have quit my office job to try new things. I am going to focus on writing about my gigs, short-term jobs, and any freelance opportunities I encounter along the way. If I sell some crap on Craigslist to pay my cellphone bill, here is where you can read about it.

I will also document my journey to make a full-time living online through this blog along with a few other sites. I hope to share some more tips on blogging and share my stats as far as traffic and what I have set for goals. It is more like a journal documenting my journey to become an entrepreneur .

I think it will be really interesting to document it and it will help me stay motivated to succeed at it. Who knows, I might even influence a few others to ditch the cubicles and move on to a more satisfying life. We will see…

Kenny Chesney’s Poets and Pirates Tour

This weekend, I had the opportunity to go check out Kenny Chesney’s Poets and Pirates Tour at the University of Phoenix stadium. It was a huge show and it was awesome to see.

There were four separate performers at the show, some I loved, other’s I didn’t. Here is a breakdown of the performances:

Gary Allan

Gary put on a good opening act and played a lot of his good songs. The first song he played was his new single, “Watching Airplanes.” He also played some of his older hits …
