Hawaii Trip Comes to An End
Aloha Everyone, I am now back from my little 3 day vacation out to Honolulu. I thought I would share the trip with you, along with the story on what lead me to book the trip a day before I took off.
What To Do For the Fourth of July?
That was the question I was trying to answer Thursday night after work. My girlfriend and I had no plans whatsoever for the weekend so we were thinking about driving to New Mexico to see the White Sands National Monument. It would of been about a 6 hour drive and we most likely would have ended up camping.
Earlier in the day I had mentioned the idea of saying screw it…

Many people dream of one day moving to Hawaii. Why not? It is paradise after all. But there are a lot of differences from life here on the mainland.
Well, I would like to share my thoughts on the idea since I have personally done it. Upon graduating college in 2007, I decided to load up a few suitcases and venture off to Honolulu, Hawaii with no plans what so ever. I booked a hotel room for 3 nights prior to flying out so I would have a place to stay.
Getting to Hawaii was easy, but once I landed there I had a lot of things to take care of. I had to find an apartment, land a job,…

This is one of the hardest blog posts I have had to write in a long time. I have decided that it is time for me to move on an experience some more of the world. My lease is up in a few days so I have decided to fly out tomorrow.
This was not a spur of the moment decision, I have been thinking about it pretty much the entire time I was here. I think things would have been different if my friend had stayed and I at least had someone close to me. Do not get me wrong, I have met some of the nicest and coolest friends ever here, but it is hard to make…

Today Jeremy and I decided to take a road trip up to the North Shore. It is nice to get out of the city once and awhile and see what Hawaii is really like. Our main goal was to try some of the world famous shave ice. We got there and stood in line for about an hour! I could not believe how many people are standing there waiting for shave ice. But, it was worth it. It tasted great and left me wanting more.
The beaches on the north shore are amazing. Not to mention the surf is ridiculous. Pipeline has some of the largest waves in the world.
The drive is very scenic as you can see in…

Last night was one of the funnest nights I have had in awhile. Jeremy and I headed to Arnold’s for like the 5th weekend in a row. Ha Ha. It is one of the only places that does not have a 10 dollar + cover and drinks are cheap. Blue Moon Pitchers for around 10 dollars is a great price in Hawaii.
Now if only we didnt drink like 6 of them…
Anyways, we met these girls from Germany that were awesome to party with. They just arrived here and were looking to party hard and we did.
Another great thing about Honolulu is that we can walk just about everywhere. I do not own a car so I never have…

Last night was a rough one, so is this morning
I am battling a hangover from doing a tad too much drinking last night. It was fun though so it was worth it in the end.
I partied with Nancy and a couple of her friends. We ended up getting drunk in a “dorm” room and then decided to head out to the clubs even though none of them were 21…
So of course we did not even get in anywhere so we ended up walking around drunk in Honolulu. It is always fun and games though.
Life is short, live it up ![]()

Today I decided to hike to the top of Diamondhead crater. Its an old volcanic crater that is not far from my apartment. I actually rode my bike there and then climbed it. It is pretty cool from the top because you can see the entire city and water all around you.
It was pretty amazing and it made me realize how small the island actually is that I live on. Basically one big rock in the Pacific ocean. I took some pictures you can see below. I even pointed out in one of the photos which building I live in.

Today was definitly a long day. Thats why I can be seen in this picture drinking a Kona beer in the Honolulu Airport. I had to say goodbye to my family, ride on 3 flights, and then arrived in Honolulu. I love this place! The weather is perfect, and the palm trees are amazing.
I am going to be heading to bed early thats for sure. I have a big week coming up with a few job interviews and also need to look at apartments.
We have a hotel through the end of the weekend so that gives up some time to look on the internet and in the newspapers.
I will not be having much access to the internet so…
