The Austonian Is Rising
Since I was little kid, I’ve always been interested in skyscrapers and skylines. There is something about tall buildings that just makes me think “awesome” when I see them. I love seeing skylines and I have had the pleasure of seeing many of them from Chicago to Los Angeles.
Anyways, the skyline here in Austin happens to be changing pretty rapidly. Just check out the two pictures I took below and see if you can notice the difference:
The New Tallest Building in Austin
If you didn’t notice, there is a new building on the rise near the middle of the picture. The building, which is called The Austonian, is quickly becoming the tallest building in Austin. It’s hard to tell if it already passed the 360 Condominiums, but it is definitely within 50 feet of passing it.
When The Austonian is completed, it will stand at 683 feet and have 56 floor. Not bad at all. Unfortunately, I won’t be living here anytime soon as I doubt the prices are within my price range for rent. Then again, I prefer living on the water where I do now.
Here are a few more pictures of the building:
I’m anxious to see how the building looks when it is completed. I can already see the top of it from my apartment which is pretty cool.
I’ll throw a few pictures up when the building is completely finished so you can see how it turns out.

That is pretty huge. I noticed the building behind it got larger (wider) too. Is that part of the same complex?
Actually, I think it’s just an illusion since my camera angles were a little different for each of the photos.
I thought that may have been the case too. Looking at it again for the 20th time, in the second photo, the bridge looks longer – so it is the angle.
